Frozen II is a decent sequel, some aspects it improved upon, I like how they dove more into Anna's character, made Olaf a better side character, I like the ideas this movie provides. But how this movie addresses any questions it brings up are either rushed or bring up even more questions. My biggest gripe with this movie is the ending narrative. The whole point of the first movie was to show sisterly love, to show that they had each other's backs. Elsa felt alone and scared of herself her whole life, she had to do everything herself and that everyone would stand in her way of happiness. Anna showed her that that was not the case and that it's ok to trust and love her family and to have people help her. etc etc. br> Frozen II Elsa finds herself wanting to learn about her powers and where she comes from. That's fine by me. The real issue comes from her inner journey showing her that in a way the way she was in the first movie: elusive, stubborn, and peacing out instead of listen to those who care about her was in fact the correct choice. Anna spends the whole movie trying to remind Elsa that she wants and can help her. That they work together as a team. But that's clearly not the case since Elsa seemed to find the seemingly impossible by following her instincts to push those close to her away and do everything by herself, hurting them in the process (which is never actually addressed- everyone just sort of hugs and that the movie ends. Not to say that there is anything wrong with showing that someone who's alone can do hard stuff or have self actualisation. it just felt more like a regression of Elsa's character rather than growth. There's other stuff too but this was my biggest gripe that actually mattered to me in the movie. Songs were decent, I didn't mind "Lost In The woods" though it was sad to see Kristof ne forgotten for most of the movie. There isn't much else I feel like I can add. This movie is fine. There's a lot of weird pacing, but it's fine.
